Welcome

The chair welcomed all along to this month’s meeting and welcomed the new member from the Spey Coast Forum.

Matters  Arising

None

“Post”

1.     Bank statement and information on Internet banking.

2.     C.I.H. leaflet “Housing, Health and Social Care”, it was decided this 1 day seminar was not suitable for tenants.

3.     C.I.H. leaflet on “Scottish Housing Matters”, again to suitable for tenants.

4.     MVSO Procurement training, new date to be arranged.

5.     Scottish Housing Regulator is looking for new inspectors. Closing date 30th January. More information can be found on The Scottish Government website and follow the links.

6.     Scottish Government will be sending out a questionnaire on “Social Housing” to all RTO’S.

7.     Consultation books and questionnaire have been sent to all RTO’S, on “Investing In Affordable Housing”. [See item in these minutes]

 

Treasurers Report

Statement No 73 shows the Core Group has £1,080.00 in its account.

The treasure asked the group if he could modernise the expenses forum, all agreed this was overdue. Treasurer to speak to Graeme Davidson and bring along a sample upgrade to the next meeting

*At this point the vice-chair asked the group if he could enrol the Core Group, if we meet the criteria, with En Trust. Membership of this will allow the Core Group and forums to apply for external funding to help with projects. Membership is £100 for the life of the Core Group.  All agreed.

 

New Year Meal

Date set for 22nd January 2009, 7pm, The Granary in Elgin.

Consultation Affordable Housing

Each forum and the Core Group have been sent consultation books and questionnaires, return date 17th 2009. An extra meeting will be arranged for the 5th March, Cedarwood at 7pm. Open invite to all forums as well as the Core Group.

 

Housing Sub Committee

The chair of the committee has asked the tenant members to come up with some ideas for presentations at the meetings. The chair has opened this up to Core members for ideas.

1.     Road maintenance/parking/road ownership on “council” estates, who is responsible and for what.

2.     Council house upgrades, which gets what and when.

3.     Turning the tables, the Core Group would like to invite the chair from “The Northern Lights” group [Region 2] to speak to the committee; towards to end of the year would be ideal.

 

Rural Housing Enabler

The chair has been contacted by Kim Siu, the Rural Housing Enabler of Moray. Kim would like to come along and talk to the group. All agreed, secretary to contact her with invite for March/April

2. All the tenant forums have been given free advertising in the “Sports Development” booklet published by TMC.

3. John McDonald, DLO, would like to come along to a Core meeting and discuss a DLO/TP road show.
