Housing Sub Committee

Iain went through all the items for the next meeting. Two items that were of interest to the group were the report going to committee relating to the 2008 Moray Tenants Conference and the installation of overhead showers for tenants. The group were informed that if tenants were to be offered then they would be asked to pay a little extra on their rent to help cover the cost. The Core Group felt this was a good idea.

Treasurers report

The Core Group has £1,204.98 in their account. Spey Coast Forum and Lossiemouth Forum are to be billed £10 each to cover the cost of a training session.

Secretary to send out accounts.

Correspondence

1.     Confirmation of the Core Groups membership to MVSO.

2.     MVSO is running a Governance Seminar 0n the 20^th September, Elgin Library, 9.45am – 12.30pm. Names to Steven by the end of the month.

T.P. Working Group

The chair and secretary reported back on the meeting. Please remember you can request copies of these minutes either from Heather or Tina Ash at The Moray Council.

Housing Best Value

This group has not met since the last Core Group meeting. Next meeting 26^th November.

Tenant Inspection

The draft report is expected by the start of December, not for public reading. The council will have a set time to reply to anything they feel has been misjudged/reported. The final report.

Moray Tenants Conference 2008

A report will go to the next Housing Sub Committee. Lessons have been learned, next year letters will go out to all tenants, this was not done this year as the conference group felt it was very expensive, The Moray Council has offered to pay for this next year. Ideas for next year’s workshops would be appreciated by the next Core Group meeting.
