The committee of the Moray Tenants Core Group is made up of up to three from each of the tenants forums in Moray. There are currently six tenants forums active in Moray so the committee can be up to eighteen strong. The committee sits approximately every four to six weeks. The primary aims of the committee are to: - Bring to the attention of the issues raised at forum meetings which cannot be resolved by the forum or which affect all the tenants of Moray.
- To send representatives to sit on working groups with council officers.
- To consult with the council on issue which affect tenant.
- To consult with the Scottish Government on issues which affect tenants.
- To send representatives to sit on the Housing Sub Committee with councillors.
Members of the Core Group sit on regional committees and on national committees: - We have three members sitting on the Northern Lights Regonal Committee.
- We have two members sitting on the Tenants Regulation Advisory Group which is a Scottish Government working group
- We have one member sitting on the Inspection Advisory Group which is a Scottish Government working goup
- Two of our members are inspectors with Scottish Housing Best Value Network.
- One of our members is a tenant inspector with the Scottish Government Housing Regulator.
- Some of our members also speak at national conferences.
The Core Group organise and run the Moray Tenants Annual Conference which is held in September.
